The tours are offered in cooperation with "Interlaken Walking Tours".
"Demand for tours of our brewery and distillery has risen sharply," confirms Remo Kobluk, Managing Director of Rugenbräu AG. Time and again, the traditional brewery on the Rugen registers inquiries from individual persons from the region as well as from tourists interested in a visit. "It quickly became clear to the Rugenbräu team that we wanted to make it possible to take a look behind the scenes," Kobluk continues. After initial clarifications, the idea was deepened and the offer was worked out in detail. The brewery tours will be conducted by Rugenbräu's own guides and by guides from the company Interlaken Walking Tours. Alessandra Martinelli, CEO at Interlaken Walking Tours, is looking forward to the collaboration: "Interlaken Walking Tours is run by students from the region. All of our guides grew up in Interlaken and the surrounding area and want to give special moments and stories to interested people." Asked TOI director Daniel Sulzer: "For the destination, the new offer is a nice addition, local products interest the guests."

Brewery and distillery tours
The tours will be offered from Monday, June 3, 2019 at 4 p.m. each Monday through Thursday. Duration is one hour. The tour leads from the reception to the brewhouse, on to the distillery, into the whisky cellar and ends at the bar in the Rugen Gnuss-Wält. There, a beer is tasted at the end. Visitors are allowed to tap the second beer themselves and receive a Tapmaster diploma with a picture as a souvenir. A taste of the in-house whisky is also possible and a small gift is presented as a farewell.

Participation is possible without registration and costs CHF 12 per person. The tours are guaranteed to take place, the size of the groups is limited to a maximum of 20 people. Interested persons will be picked up at the visitors' entrance at 16.00. The guided tours are mainly in English or on request in German.

For individuals and groups
"The popular and detailed tours for groups will of course continue to be offered," confirms Kobluk. These are possible from Monday to Saturday during the opening hours of the Rugen Gnuss-Wält and last two hours. These tours are for closed groups and are organized on request. They include the detailed brewery tour, a whisky tasting (dram), a beer aperitif with pretzel and a beer stein as a souvenir.
