When a person spends almost his entire working life at Rugenbräu, it is special.
Christoph Hug, a chauffeur at Rugenbräu for 40 years, looks back on his years at the traditional brewery. But he is also looking ahead - his retirement will be varied with various offices in the region. What he wishes for Rugenbräu? "That Rugenbräu remains independent and a good employer in the region. I also wish that the customers diligently buy the good products."

A wonderful, great employer.
The company outing to Alsace, to Mulhouse, to the Oldtimer Museum. That was the first company outing - it's not obvious that an employer offers something like that.
Another special moment was my birthday on February 4, 2019: When I arrived at work as usual, my truck was decorated with a congratulatory banner.
The truck, of course. Most of the time I drive the same truck - you feel a vehicle over time, so you should not change too much. Especially in difficult road conditions, this is important.
I like to do all the tours. I especially like to drive to the Simmental/Saanenland. Times not too much on the highway, but also through beautiful landscapes.
I like to work for and with satisfied customers. The contacts with the depositary, hoteliers and restaurateurs.
If not working well together. Most of the time, it would be enough to take time for a short conversation to simply clarify things.
The family. Where you feel at home. The region here.
Sausage and mountain cheese!
I like to travel - to the north. To Scandinavia, for example. The people and the area are fascinating. To experience the midnight sun at the North Cape is indescribably beautiful. Likewise the fascinating winter landscapes in Finland.
Close to nature, helpful, hardworking.
The recruit school as a truck driver was my stepping stone for the truck driving license in civilian clothes. After that, I applied for an open chauffeur position at Rugenbräu.
Makes joy. You can't change drivers, but you can be proactive. However, my work is not only driving, much more loading and unloading and contact with customers are very important for me.
Retiring in two weeks....
That's hard - there are already situations that make me laugh. I often feel joy.
Leo Paulmichl: He was my work colleague at Rugenbräu and was there for a whole 43 years. He gave me the foundation for what I am today and how I carry out my work.
Depending on the mood. From country, Johnny Cash to folk music and worship songs.
