Rugen Distillery awarded

On Friday, October 13, 2023 the 7th national spirits award DistiSuisse 2023/24 took place. This prestigious award is held only every two years and always sets an example in the world of Swiss fine spirits. From Rugen Distillery, Andri Hiecke, Distillery employee, and Ludwig Stranzky, Head of Production, accepted the awards on site.

Gold for the Swiss Mountain Single Malt Whiskies
The Swiss Mountain Single Malt Whisky "ICE LABEL Edition 2023", the Swiss Mountain Single Malt Whisky "Rock Label" and the "Two Lakes Single Malt Whisky" were awarded gold. Silver was awarded to the "Swiss Crystal Gin." DistiSuisse - national award
Every two years, the Swiss distilling industry meets for DistiSuisse, the national award for the best spirits produced in Switzerland. "Those who succeed at DistiSuisse are undoubtedly among the best distillers," DistiSuisse is quoted as saying. Only outstanding products receive awards. This is guaranteed by a professional 27-member jury headed by Agroscope. In a tasting marathon lasting three days, the jury evaluated the spirits according to appearance, aroma, taste and overall impression. In addition, all samples were analytically examined, which is only the case for this award.
